Review: White Rabbit – Belgian Style Pale Ale

250 Beers

A rather well packaged ‘beer mail’ parcel arrived at 250 Beers HQ last Friday courtesy of Lion’s PR department. It contained three bottles from White Rabbit Brewery – which falls into Lion’s craft portfolio thanks to the Healesville outfit being part of the Little Creatures set-up. The exact contents of the box turned out to be one 330ml bottle from each of the permanent White Rabbit lines – Dark Ale, White Ale and the brand spanking new Belgian style Pale Ale – launched in Victoria that very same day.

It wasn’t until Sunday evening that I cracked it open. Appropriate glassware selected…

Sweet Sweet Love

Have you ever felt the love of a Labrador retriever? Brown, black or yellow they are always excited, happy, minus the drool. They always want to see you! And even when you don’t know you are down they come over, lay on your feet, brush up against your side and change your day. In a subtle fashion they know how and when to love.

In the same sense Ellie’s Brown Ale displays the same subtleties as a beer. It smoothly and quietly slides into your mouth and gives you it’s love. The nutty goodness eases a bad day into a good afternoon.

Beer of the Week

One of the venues that I try to partake of is Beer Director for the Neighborhood restaurant group Greg Engert and his Beer of the Week. In this video they weekly go over a new offering in their bar, The Church Key here in Washington DC. They talk about the flavors of the beer and also talk a lot about pairings for the beer. For me, as a lay-beer-nerd, I find this very helpful because experts are telling me what the beer should taste like and what it should pair with. Subscribe and get more beer knowledge every week!

In this week’s episode they talk about the new Sierra Nevada Beer Camp. Beer camp is the biggest collaboration in beer history and is super exciting. Watch the vid below to see what they are doing!
